Why You  Should Be
Using FamilySearch.org

Have you kept up with the big makeover at FamilySearch.org? More than ever, this free online genealogical website has the resources you’re seeking.

Come join a live demonstration by Robert Givens this Thursday, showing the many resources found at FamilySearch, including the Research Wiki, Family History Library Catalog and their online book collection. With FamilySearch having the fastest-growing collection of online genealogical records, learning to use this updated online resource will make you a more productive researcher.

Our speaker for this month’s meeting has extensive experience with both genealogy and the FamilySearch website. Robert Givens is a retired teacher and public school administrator from the Fresno area who has served as director of his local Family History Center. In addition, he has worked in product support  and data analysis for beta programs as they were being developed to be launched by FamilySearch.org.

A Tuscon transplant, Robert comes from a family with a five-generation history in the Pima Valley of Arizona. He has been an active researcher since his high school years. As he puts it, “Genealogy began for me at my grandmother’s knee when I was ten.” Now author of four genealogy books and former Board member of the Fresno County Genealogical Society, Mr. Givens has spoken widely on a number of subjects of interest to genealogical society members.

Come join us on October 17 to explore how FamilySearch can supercharge your genealogy research challenges.
